IVAR MALAI - HISTORICAL PLACE - 12 KM FROM PALANI : This hill is named as Aivar malai and Ayiramalai. At the foot of this hill, a natural cavern is found which served as an abode of Jain monks. On the face of the rock just about the height of 12 ft, portraits of Jaina Tirthankaras are carved out. These sculptures belong to 9th –10th century CE. Accananthi Indirasena, Mallisena and a lady preceptor Avananthi Kurathi carved these bas-relief sculptures. This Jain basthi had close contact with other basthis in Madurai region. These sculptures are assignable to 9th - 10th century CE.
KUTHIRAYAR FALLS & DAM - 12 KM FROM PALANI : Kuthiraiyar Falls or Kuthiraiyar Falls is a waterfall set in a little disturbed part of the hills near Udumalaipettai. Taking bath in the waterfalls here is considered healthy by many as the water gets in contact with several medicinal plants which enhances the good of the water. There are no proper roads to reach this waterfalls and can be reached by trekking with the help of locals only. The Kuthiraiyar River flows through this water fall into the catchment area of the Kuthiraiyar Dam. Andipatti is one of the prominent villages near this waterfall.
